چکیده

In this paper, a data-mining approach for modeling pumps in the wastewater preliminary treatment process is discussed. Datamining algorithms are utilized to develop pump performance models based on industrial data collected at a municipal wastewater processing plant. The performance of wastewater pumps is described by two parameters, pump energy consumption and water flow rate after the pumps. Two types of models, dynamic and steady state, are established to predict pump energy consumption and water flow rate. The first type of model is developed based on 5-min data and the second type is built based on 30-min data. The accuracy of the models has been validated. Economic optimization and comparative study of solar heat pumps

In this paper, an economic study of solar heat pumps and an investigation of differences between solar heat pumps and conventional heat pumps—based on their performances and energy consumption—are conducted for a residential apartment located in Austin, Texas, USA. Heating in the apartment is provided via a solar heat pump during the cold months of a year. Solar collectors are used to meet the ...

Modeling and analysis of pumps in a wastewater treatment plant: A data-mining approach

A data-mining approach is proposed to model a pumping system in a wastewater treatment plant. Two parameters, energy consumption and wastewater flow rate after the pumping system, are used to evaluate the performance of 27 scenarios while the pump was operating. Five data-mining algorithms are applied to identify the relationships between the outputs (energy consumption and wastewater flow rate...

Electrical Energy Management in Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant

In this study, the energy consumption of Nasirabad Industrial Park (NIP) treatment plant was evaluated. A combination of up-flow anaerobic baffled reactor (UABR) and aerobic integrated fixed-bed activated sludge (IFAS) processes were employed in NIP. To find out the average electrical energy use per m3 influent wastewater, the rate of energy usage of the plant was calculated by data ...

Optimal Short-Term Scheduling of Multi-Chiller Plants Considering Energy Requirement of Cooling Towers, Pumps and Chillers

During extremely hot summer days, air conditioning systems are known as major electricity consumers in residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Moreover, high energy requirement of multiple-chiller plants may cause an interconnected power grid be faced with annual on-peak electrical demand, load-generation mismatch, voltage collapse and catastrophic wide area blackout. Therefore, this pa...

Minimizing pump energy in a wastewater processing plant

This paper discusses energy savings in wastewater processing plant pump operations and proposes a pump system scheduling model to generate operational schedules to reduce energy consumption. A neural network algorithm is utilized to model pump energy consumption and fluid flow rate after pumping. The scheduling model is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem (MINLP). As solving a data-dr...
